Antique French Pillivuyt Mehun Trompe L’oeil Porcelain Quail in a Crust Pâté Terrine. Pillivuyt produced a variety of porcelain terrines inspired by the hunt and for serving game pies or pâté. This type terrine was originally designed and made for royalty and nobility in the eighteenth century as an ingenious solution for pastry-less tarts and pies during France’s flour shortage.

This is a beautiful antique piece, rare to find in this condition.  Made in the early 1900’s.  Measures 9″ x 4-5/8″ x  5-1/2″h. This is a fragile item and will require special shipping.  Please call for more information.
