French Faience Majolica. Approx. 10". Glazed barbotine ceramic with textured earth tones of moss green, Plate has six compartments and a center one for lemons. The reverse is marked, Gien France. Gien in Central France was founded in 1823 by Hall (owner of Creil & Montereau majolica).
Gien majolica was particularly appreciated by French aristocrats.
The most famous mark has ever been the Triple Tower (like these).
